Tornator’s Forest Assets

At the end of 2025, the Tornator Group owned 819,000 hectares of forest. The total value of the forest assets was EUR 3.8 billion.

Of our 819,000 hectares of forest assets, 742,000 ha are in Finland, 65,000 ha in Estonia, and 12,000 ha in Romania.

Our forests are 100% double-certified.
13,800 ha of our forests are protected areas.
15% of our forests are mixed stands.
Each year, we manage 60,000 forest management sites.
In 2025, we carried out forest management work on 40,000 hectares of the company’s forests.
Over the past ten years, we have planted approximately 100 million seedlings in our own or our customers forests.

We Are Finland’s Largest Private Forest Owner

We own 742,000 hectares of forest in Finland, which makes us the largest private forest owner in the country. Our forest assets are located across Finland, but our ownership is strongest in Eastern Finland, where the company was originally founded.

We sell logging rights in our forests

We follow a sustainable harvesting plan.
We keep our annual harvests on average below the forests’ growth rate.
We provide a steady supply of raw material to the forest industry.

We develop, utilize, and sell our real estate holdings

We buy and lease forest estates in our core areas.
We zone and sell waterfront plots from areas we own.
We lease usage rights to our lands.
We sell high-quality waterfront plots and aggregates.
We develop wind and solar power projects.

Dual certification guides forest management

Tornator’s forests are certified under both PEFC and FSC. Certification means that forest management and operations are ecologically, economically, and socially sustainable, without compromising the ability of future generations to live and thrive.

FSC-certified forests are still rare — in Finland, FSC certification covers 10% of forest area, and globally only 4%. Tornator’s forests account for one-third of all FSC-certified forest area in Finland.
