Tornator promotes sustainability in its operations from three perspectives: economic, social, and ecological. The goal is to maintain a balance in overall sustainability – continuously improving each area.
Our operations are guided by the principles of responsible business Code of Conduct.
Financial responsibility
Economic sustainability means for Tornator the ability to pay stable dividends and to reliably meet its debt obligations. Tornator ensures the continuous improvement of operational efficiency and quality by, for example, promoting forest services, forest growth, and the digitalization of forest resources.
Environmental responsibility
In terms of ecological sustainability, Tornator has taken concrete actions, particularly in safeguarding biodiversity. Collaboration with WWF and Stora Enso to protect freshwater ecosystems has resulted in numerous successful projects in Eastern Finland. In peatland restoration, Tornator has been a pioneer in Finland.

Social responsibility
Tornator’s operations are sustainable also from the perspective of people and the surrounding society. The company is a significant corporate taxpayer and employer in sparsely populated areas. Tornator is committed to its forestry professionals by offering meaningful work, promoting well-being at work, and supporting skills development. People across the value chain are also important to Tornator, and contractors are supported, for example, in improving occupational safety.
Reporting Unethical Conduct and Misconduct
To report unethical conduct or misconduct, Tornator uses an anonymous whistleblowing system maintained by a third party. Reports are handled by the CEO and the Corporate Responsibility Manager; all cases are registered, and corrective actions are initiated without delay when necessary. The effectiveness of corrective actions is monitored.
